The Trolley Barn community is rich in history. The site previously housed maintenance buildings for the electric trolley that ran on the line beginning in 1890. A portion of the historic structure has been incorporated into the community at the southeast corner of the site. The tracks are slated to become the Trolley Trail and once complete, will be an extension of the Springwater trail and establish a continuous 20-mile off-street trail connecting to downtown Portland. Nearby, the 163- acre Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is home to 125 types of birds. Trolley Barn is a unique community designed to enhance the benefits of the existing neighborhood. The Contemporary Craftsman architectural styling features window patterns to maximize natural light and a lower level bonus room with separate, sunken entrance offers added flexibility in space planning.
